How to use HTML to Markdown
- Paste HTML source or select a local HTML file.
- Leave Remove navigation, headers and footers on to omit those sections, or turn it off to keep them where convertible.
- Convert and review the Markdown before downloading the .md file.
What this tool does
Scripts and active content are removed; complex layouts are not preserved exactly.

Can I convert a live webpage by URL?
No. Paste HTML source or choose a local HTML file. The tool does not fetch web pages.
What happens to scripts and styles?
Scripts, styles and external resources are removed. Complex page layouts may not have an exact Markdown equivalent.
Privacy
Your input is processed in your browser. This version does not send document content to a conversion server and includes no advertising or analytics scripts. Loading the website requires a network connection.
